More on UK wire/Internet tapping - im saddened again - where is the law in this case-

What with Riot Police at all protests, Police killing inocent people, the secret service now monitoring every machine in the uk - 1984 is looking pretty chilled in comparison.

The problem with all of this data rentention is a resourcing issue. They may well have the wherewithall to save the data, but probably don't have the resources to actually do anything with it. Other than passing it through a few keyword alert programs, it's a bit like finding a needle in a haystack. Very concerning nonetheless.
